Biggest Loser - Week 4

I did manage a 1.8 lb loss this past week which was okay considering the weekend I had on our boys fishing trip.  LOTS of drinks and LOTS of food, with that being said it has definately been worse in the past.  Thats 4 weeks in a row with a loss and a total of 13 lbs so far.  I'd really like to improve on my losses this next week and plan to incorporate more gym time.  Nutrition I can balance for the most part but GYM time is my downfall.

The only excuse I can come up with is being a bit LAZY.  I have MANY optins at my fingertips.  A.  A gym at our office that has weights and several cardio opportuities.  B.  A nice set up in my basement including a recumgant bike, an eliptical type machine and dumbells from 5 lbs to 50 lbs along with several different exercise videos and the Biggest Loser game on the WII.  And C.  A family membership to Urban Active which is about a half mile from my house....  SO, my MENTAL game is struggling a bit when it comes to the GYM.....

ONE thing I do truely miss is all the outdoor bike riding we did last summer, I can't wait for the weather to break so I can get back to that hard and heavy...

Just GOTTA figure out the GYM/Workout thing, gotta wrap my mind around the fact that there is not other way to be truely successful in this battle until I can make that happen. I wish the switch would flip on for me and  I wish it was a habbit that was as easy to form as smoking, I'd be the king then...  ANYHOW...

Keep the Faith and keep FIGHTING THE FAT...

Good job on the weight loss; I would take 1.8 pounds any week! Exercise is a tough habit to form, but this morning I read an article from the editor of Men's health. I'm going to offer an exceprt, so excuse me if this comment is a bit long:
If you go to the bank and shift funds into your IRA people say you are "investing" in your future. But if you go to the gym they say you're "spending" your time there. And that's one reason why so many of us become discouraged in our pursuit of fitness- it so often feels as ifthere are more important things to do, that we're "spending" precious time on a luxury. --David Zinczenko

Maybe you should try to think of your workouts as an investment in your future now so you can reap the rewards (less health issues) down the road?

I went to a Fitness Fair a couple of weeks ago and got a 7 Day VIP pass to a local women-only gym. I went and did the tour today and was quite impressed. It's not fancy, but quite nice and up to date. Of course the high-pressure sales pitch came on right away, but I told the girl that I wasn't going to sign anything today or until I had a chance to try it out. I like the gym idea in theory, but I am not sure how it will fit into my routine. I've got seven days to figure it out.

I did walk a couple of miles on the treadmill today - jogged a little too. I don't just stroll... I've got the incline raised and the speed up. I just need to keep building that up and lengthening the distance.

This is so good, you sticking with this challenge. I hope you get to make a little money one week!
