Maybe I've found my groove, maybe I've turned a corner, my mind set seems more determined than ever and a good start is always motivational. 10.4 pound loss this week and honestly I wasnt surprised, I tried really hard, got some good exercise and really only had 2 bad diet moments, 5 or 6 drinks last Friday and too much for supper last Saturday. I got some exercise, on the bike outside on three different occasions and held fast to the idea that its okay to be a little hungry sometimes... 10.4 pounds comes out to 2.93%, the funny thing is I didnt even win the week for the loser contest, second. First place was 3.8%. I informed my wife of how I did and her response, "Thats great, you beat Michael and Koli this week." That was nice and very touching as well as very motivational as well.
I've taken to tracking my calories VERY well and averaged 1850 calories per day intake in the last week, my water intake was better than it has been and soda has basically been elimated from my diet, maybe two cans in the last week... We'll see...
I have to say I will not be hapy this next week unless I "PROVE" this week wasnt a fluke. My goal is another 10 pounds, seems insane but when you are as big as I am its VERY doable. I know that cant be my goal all the time and have enought sense to realize and understand how this works BUT it gives me something to shoot for this week and something that will not come easy...
I've taken up a new motto when it comes to diet and exercise.... "STIFF UPPER LIP" - Keep that stiff upper lip, even when it seems imposible, even when you don't feel like sticking to the plan, even when there are distractions and excuses... Keep it and keep with it, I deserve it...
Enough rambling for now...
Keep the Faith and Fight the FAT...

Thats a freakin awesome loss! You're a machine!!!
10.4 lbs is A LOT! Good luck with 10 lbs next week - but you are right... having that goal every week is unrealistic. Just keep doing what you're doing and it will come off. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But it WILL come off! Congratulations, Brad!
Sorry Brad, but I find the idea of a 10lb loss terrifying. There's no way you should be losing that amount of weight in such a short space of time.
THis isn't about just losing weight, it's about your HEALTH and SUSTAINING the weightloss and health.
And this level of weight loss is neither healthy nor sustainable.
We can all lose weight by not eating, but we will be damaging our bodies and our metabolisms.
You have to look past the short term goals, Brad, at the big picture.
